1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup Crisco 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 3/4 cup raisins 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1 egg 2 Tablespoons water 1 1/2 cups sifted flour 1 Tablespoon instant coffee 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
In mixer bowl, cream together sugar and Crisco. Add egg; beat well. Stir in water. Combine flour, instant coffee, soda, salt, and spices; add to creamed mixture. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375( for 10 minutes.
