Description | The classic Italian tomato-based sauce |
1/2 cup chopped onion 2 cloves of garlic, pressed 1 Tablespoon olive oil 4 cans (14 1/2 oz) tomatoes, drained and chopped 2 Tablespoons lemon juice 1 Tablespoon dried Italian seasoning 2 bay leaves
Cook onion and garlic in olive oil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until tender. Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat to medium, and cook 20 minutes or until most of liquid evaporates, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard bay leaves.
