Ingredients

Cookie

• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup finely chopped apples (with skin)
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 cup nuts
• 1 1/3 cups brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon cloves
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1 cup raisins

Frosting

• 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• Pinch of salt
• Cream

Instructions

Mix all cookie ingredients. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto baking sheet. Bake at 400( for 11-14 minutes. Combine all frosting ingredients, adding enough cream to make the mixture of spreading consistency. Spread on warm cookies.
